As you travel up the forest track, you feel certain that you will reach something spectacular. It does not disappoint as stunning views await. You’ve arrived, and you are cocooned within the forested magic of Marthrown.
A million miles from anywhere as you see far off into the horizon or gaze at the starry sky as night falls, woodland sounds are all you will hear. Unless you are here to party, and if you are no-one will know of your presence in your far-off forest wonderland, free to enjoy nature and the simpler ways of life…just be part of the woodland and respect its splendour. This is what grabs you when you enter the world of Marthrown of Mabie. It has a magical presence that offers lazy relaxation, fun or adventure.
Even in this apparent wilderness location we still have wi-fi across the whole site albeit not at urban speeds!

Nith Barn
This newly renovated barn has 2 bedrooms, one with a king size and 2 singles, the other with 2 sets of bunk beds so sleeps 8, and a cosy lounge with a large wood burning stove for those chilly evenings where you can gather round and chat. There is also a TV, DVD player, a selection of films and wi-fi connection.
The kitchen for your sole use is just across the courtyard
All bedding is provided for Nith Barn
Esk and Annan Crofter’s Cottages
Each Cottage has been newly converted to become self-contained with it’s own well equipped kitchen including a microwave, gas stove, and all the pots and pans you will need (Esk also has a breakfast bar). Each has it own toilet and shower room
It has a double bed and a set of bunks so sleeps 4. We love what they have become and hope you do too
There is a woodburning stove (we provide the logs), TV and DVD recorder, a selection of films, wifi connection and a kids activity box
On the verandah there is a seating area wher you can sit and chat
We are a dog-friendly accommodation site. There are several resident pets on site, and also lots of wildlife to see throughout the forest. Your canine friends are welcome to stay anywhere on site, in any of the accommodation facilities.
