Of the ’50 World Best Campsites’, chosen by the ‘Independent Newspaper’ Fisherground is in the Overall Top 18 and in the Overall Top 4 for Children’s Enjoyment.
Fisherground Campsite is set right in the heart of Eskdale, one of Cumbria’s loveliest valleys.
Here on the West side of the Lake District we get less rain and more sun than our famous cousins the other side of Scafell.
In this quiet valley there is still the Peace and Tranquility that should be Lakeland but rarely is in the bustling centres.
We allow campfires at Fisherground, so make sure you remember your marshmallows. We are taking bookings for the upcoming season so please give us a call. We look forward to welcoming you when you arrive
Facilities
We have recently refurbished our toilet block. It is modern, clean, airy and spacious. Includes hand dryers and hair dryers and coin operated showers.
There are also 6 deep sinks for washing-up. Hot water is free, and always available.
The Laundry has a washing machine, which is operated by token (available from the Warden), powder is included. There are 3 tumble driers available, which are operated by 50p’s. We have a boot drier for those of you who love walking whatever the weather.
The facilities are cleaned routinely throughout the day and is maintained to the highest standards. There is also a freezer available to freeze your ice packs.
The Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway halts at our campsite.
Eskdale Green our nearest village has a great little village store with everything you could need for your trip.
Even an outdoor clothing section for that new pair of boots or waterproofs. We have chosen to support our local village shop and have no convenience store on-site, the shop at Eskdale Green is just a 5 minute drive away.
